Coronaphobia
Northern Hearts presents a “Virtual Talk with Doc” Webinar
Coronaphobia is a mental health condition whereby people develop an unhealthy fear of contracting COVID-19 and this fear causes poor functioning in their daily lives impacting their mental well-being and potential heart health.
Northern Hearts, a local non-profit charity, recognizes this link between mental and physical well-being, particularly as it relates to heart health. In an effort to decrease heart disease and improve the mental health of the community during the pandemic, they are offering a free webinar titled “Coronaphobia”.
The webinar is part of their “Virtual Talk with Doc” series and will be available on Zoom, January 27, 2021 from 7-8pm. Dr. Meaghan Labine, MD, MSC, PhD, CCFP from the Northern Ontario School of Medicine will be speaking about how the fear of contracting COVID-19 impacts our daily lives and will offer recommendations on how individuals can protect their mental health during the pandemic. People will have the opportunity to ask questions of Dr. Labine as part of the webinar.
